From “that same” to “exactly 372 grams”: this is how the padel player has changed
In Keepadel We experience it every day in the store, but this time we wanted to capture it with humor (and a lot of reality) in our latest video: The contrast between the padel player of the past and the one of todayBecause even though the sport is the same, the player profile has evolved... a lot.
The player from before: “Do you have that white one from the logo with an X?”
The scene needs no filters or special effects. The old-school player arrives, the classic, the one who's always been there. Black polo shirt, belly, face like he just stepped out of the pelota court, and a phrase that sums up his entire philosophy:
“I came to change my paddle because I’ve been playing with it for eight months.”
No technical specifications, no existential doubts about balance, rubber, or weight. You want a cheap racket that works, and if possible, just like your old one. If it's worked well, why change?
He's the kind of player who would walk in, look at the rack, and walk out with his new racket in less than a minute. No reviews, no comparisons. Just blind faith in what he knew. If it was good for him, it was good, period.

The current player: “18K Carbon, Hesacore and weighing exactly 372 grams”
Fast forward to the present day, and we find ourselves facing a new profile. Today's players walk into stores and start asking about the different padel racket technologies to find the one that best suits their needs:
“I want a paddle with 18K carbon, with an adjustable weight system, Hesacore to prevent vibrations, an exact weight of 372 grams, and a medium-high balance.”
Their level may be intermediate, but their knowledge is elite. He's watched reviews on YouTube, read comparisons on forums, consulted his physiotherapist, and even his personal trainer. For him, every detail counts: the material, the density of the rubber, the surface finish, and even the design of the arch.
This new player seeks pinpoint precision. He knows what he wants and isn't willing to compromise on anything that doesn't fit his playing style. This isn't a purchase; it's a strategic investment.
Two worlds, one passion
Although they may seem like two different species, both profiles share something fundamental: the love for padelOne from simplicity and custom, the other from analysis and optimization.
And the reality is that no one model is better than another. Everyone enjoys the game in their own way.
In Keepadel We love seeing how the sport has evolved, how players are becoming more interested, informed, and eager to improve. But we also value that essence of the early days, when it was enough to like the paddle and have a good feeling about it.
That's why we continue to offer options for all tastes in our store: from those who come in saying "that one" to those who ask for a racket "with 12K carbon, medium feel, and a centered sweet spot."
And you, which one do you identify with more? Are you Team Vintage or Team Tecnico? Tell us in the comments and stop by Keepadel to find your next paddle. Either way, you'll be fine-tuned.
