A second life for padel balls: Keepadel's sustainable commitment
Padel is one of the sports that has grown the most in recent years. Its popularity has led to an increase in the consumption of sports equipment, especially padel balls, whose life cycle is very short, especially in tournaments and official matches. This generates an environmental impact that often goes unnoticed.
From Keepadel We wanted to reflect on this topic and share our way of doing our part. This is how they expressed it Marcos and Jorge in one of our latest videos:
"I feel like I waste too many cans of balls during games," Marcos commented, aware of the impact this can have.
"Well, yes, the truth is we waste too much money and pollute a lot. We'll tell you what we do at Keepadel: we're sustainable and we like to take care of the planet," Jorge added.
What do we do at Keepadel, the best padel store in Madrid?
In Keepadel we organize numerous tournaments throughout the year. As is customary in this type of competition, we always use new balls to ensure the best playing conditions. This means that, after each tournament, we end up with a significant number of balls that could end up in the trash if we don't look for responsible alternatives.

That's why we have launched a simple but effective system of reuse and donation of padel balls:
«As you know we do many tournaments (Keepadel tournaments)"We use a lot of padel balls because we always put out new ones for tournaments. So what we do is collect the used balls, and as you can see, we reuse the good ones for our instructors. The instructors we have agreements with take them for their carts because they're still usable," Jorge explained.
Thus, balls in better condition have a second life in our instructors' training sessions and padel classes. And not only that:
"And then we take advantage of the ones that are in the worst condition here and donate them to children's summer camps so they can use them, because they'll hit four shots and not complain, and with that, we give them a second life."

In this way, even the most worn padel balls remain useful, enabling children to enjoy and learn through sports activities. This type of action not only reduces the amount of waste generated but also fosters awareness and engagement throughout the community.
A small gesture, a big impact
The message is clear: every action counts. From Keepadel We want to invite all players to join this initiative. If you have used balls and don't know what to do with them, Bring them to our tournaments or to our Keepadel store at Isla de Arosa 35 (Madrid)We'd be happy to give them a second chance:
"So if anyone is interested in not throwing away their balls and wants to donate them, we'll be here to collect them," Jorge concluded with a laugh, after joking with Marcos:
"Come on, then you're not going to let me take another boat," Marcos said.
"No, we have to take care of the planet," Jorge responded, summing up the spirit of the initiative.
For a more sustainable padel
Together we can make our sport increasingly environmentally friendly. At Keepadel, we believe in a padel game that, in addition to being fun, contributes to caring for the environment. Because Each reused ball is one less piece of waste and one step closer to a more sustainable future..
